After starting my own fitness journey and experiencing the mental and physical benefits firsthand, I knew helping others do the same was my calling.
While working toward my B.S. in Psychology and B.S. in Health & Sports Science Education, I earned my Personal Training Certification through the National Council on Strength & Fitness in 2015. Since then, I’ve continued to expand my knowledge through ongoing education, workshops, and conferences. I also hold a Level 1 Certification from Precision Nutrition and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling.
As a trainer, my ultimate goal is to impact my clients’ overall wellness. I emphasize celebrating small wins, practicing gratitude, and appreciating what our bodies are capable of. I believe growth is lifelong—just like fitness should be. My hope is that my passion shines through my coaching, creating a positive, motivating, and encouraging environment here at FitWerks.
Over the past eight years at FitWerks, my role has evolved. As Head Trainer, I have the privilege of leading our training staff and overseeing a variety of programs. I am also the founder and coach of our GluteWerks program, and one of my favorite roles is guiding clients in building healthier lifestyles outside the gym through our nutrition and transformation coaching.
Ellen Trotter is a certified coach and personal trainer with over 12 years of experience helping individuals build strength, confidence, and sustainable healthy habits. A lifelong athlete, Ellen discovered early on that her true purpose lies in guiding others—especially moms—through fitness and nutrition to create lasting positive change.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Sports Science, an MBA, and multiple professional certifications including CPT, Precision Nutrition Level 1, and Girls Gone Strong Pre- & Postnatal Coaching. Her coaching philosophy blends evidence-based training with individualized nutrition support to empower clients at every stage of life.
Ellen is passionate about helping people transform their health “one bite and one rep at a time,” building strength, improving fitness, and developing habits that lead to a lifestyle they love.
At 28, I bring a unique perspective to fitness shaped by a life spent moving across the globe—from the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska to the vibrant culture of Germany and the sunny shores of Hawaii. My journey took a significant turn when I enlisted in the Army in 2017, where I quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant, leading over 30 soldiers and managing our unit’s overweight program. This experience instilled in me the importance of discipline, resilience, and the power of community.
After five rewarding years of service, I transitioned to civilian life in 2022 to pursue my college education and dedicate more time to my two beautiful children, ages six and two. As a passionate advocate for health and fitness, particularly for fellow moms, I believe that staying active is essential for us to be our best selves.
I am an avid Peloton athlete and enjoy incorporating boot camps into my routine to enhance my strength training. My background in the Army laid the groundwork for my fitness philosophy, and I further expanded my knowledge by earning my CFL1 certification. This allows me to create effective and engaging workouts tailored to our gym community.
When I’m not coaching or working out, you can find me enjoying a good book, sipping on coffee, or cherishing family time. I’m excited to help you reach your fitness goals and embark on this journey together!
Sloane is a NASM certified personal trainer by way of physical therapist assistant. After many years working in the rehab and recovery side of physical health, she decided to make the switch to preventative care. Sloane is also a certified functional aging specialist, helping to keep the aging population moving and healthy. Because of her physical therapy background, Sloane is big in making sure her clients have proper body mechanics to avoid injury while building strength.
When Sloane isn’t training clients or coaching bootcamps, you can find her enjoying a cup of coffee with her wife on their front porch, watching their kids in one of their many activities, or escaping to the mountains whenever possible.
